Subject: What I think of the Bay 101
My 2 cents: I've played poker (in at last count) 83 different places. Of all these, the Bay 101 is my favorite one. -The room is beautiful. The openness, the architecture, the colors, the lighting all are very easy on the eyes. They even have the most aesthetically pleasing chips IMO. Complaints that the floormen have to cover more space for the same number of tables fall on deaf ears with me. -Prior to the nonsmokingness, the ventilation was the best I've ecnountered. Hopefully, the rave reviews of the Bellagio will prove to overturn this. -I've had many good meals tableside. The last one I recall (Monday May 25th, approximately 3 pm) was a chicken specialty that had prosciutto and fontina cheese with angel-hair pasta. That was one of the best meals I've had this year. -The dealers are all topnotch. Additionally, they seem empowered sufficiently to control the games well. -I play there once a year, and the floorpeople remember my name. -The last time I was there (in May), a junior floorperson made what proved to be a mistake in deciding must-move status. The senior floorperson immediately made a move to correct the decision while simultaneously refraining from undermining or humiliating his subordinate. He then explained to her away from the table (not audible to the table, I only eavesdropped out of professional curiosity) what the official position is. This person would be a successful manager in any endeavor. Obviously my opinions may not be statistically significant given the number of hours I play there per year compared to some rgp'ers (though at 20 hours this year I apparently have topped some folks), but I wanted to post this to let those who have never played there that it is worth a shot.
