Well, I don't know about autoracing (I went to college and all), but I do know that the behavior of distance cyclists is ABSOLUTELY, DEFINITELY affected by their membership on a team. Maybe we're looking at this all wrong. Maybe sponsorship will be more forthcoming WITH TEAMS. I doubt it, but it's kinda funny when one looks at the example of cycling.
BTW, as long as I'm making one serious post in this thread, I don't give a shit if someone screws their backer, which seemed to be an issue to which a lot of bandwidth was devoted. I only care when two people(or more) conspire to screw me. And it happens. I'm 99.9% sure that Linda conducts herself with the utmost integrity, but I'm similarly confident that there are other entities who do not. Anyway, team control seems about as useful as guncontrol. It only regulates the good guys.
